I talk about the amazing little inspiring traits I see in Filipino hearts. I talk about the beautiful mountains, rivers, and beaches. I talk about the food. The absolutely beautiful culture I continue to learn from. The amazing Filipinos I have met and had experiences with. I talk about the happiness I witness. I talk about why I love the Philippines. It is one of the greatest feelings… as I share, something usually begins to happen. Something changes in that Filipinos face. It goes from uncertain, to intrigue, to pride. I have met so many talented, caring, friendly, smart, beautiful, amazing Filipinas over the course of my time in the Philippines. These situations and conversations with locals, they really do happen to me quite often. For me even though I may only inspire one more person to shift their perspective… that is important to me. Where as if Filipinos push the other simple amazing reasons why one should be proud to call this country home… share those reasons first and foremost with foreigners and each other… maybe it will inspire foreigners who are here for girls for the wrong reasons to at THE VERY LEAST respect this culture and these beautiful women. Maybe it will empower some Filipina women to not put themselves or foreigners into relationships that may not be positive to be in. The same goes for foreigners I meet.
